The IC-PBL Center at Hanyang University ERICA was sailed out to sea in 2016 by the vice president Dr. Woo-Seung Kim's strong will in order to develop human resources with solid problem-solving competence in the upcoming fourth industrial revolution.

The PBL Center launched forth all highly specialized PBL major courses by passing the application for PRIME (Program for Industrial needs-Matched Education) project funded by Ministry of Education. It has established major operating systems: pilot PBL course running, individual support for new PBL courses, PBL curriculum flowchart, PBL graduation qualification, faculty consulting, tutor incubating, and so on. The PBL Center was renamed "The IC-PBL Center"(Industry-Coupled Problem-Based Learning) in 2017 by the vice president to reinforce industry education partnership. The "ERICA IC-PBL" Center has advanced several PBL programs, such as IC-PBL conference, nationwide IC-PBL contest, P-School, SIG(Special Interest Group), IC-PBL TIP(Together Impressive Program), and so on. It was listed in global PBL networks at Aalborg UNESCO Center for the first time in Korea in 2018. The IC-PBL Center at Hanyang University ERICA is now sailing in full swing for spreading and sophisticating IC-PBL.
